Training Resources / Webinars
COMTA is pleased to partner with MaxKnowledge to provide on-demand training courses for career schools.
The COMTA online training portal can be accessed here.
COMTA wants to support massage and aesthetics schools and programs in their everyday operations and continuous improvement of quality education for students entering our professions. The online training portal is just one of many new features we will be making available to support schools and programs.
There are many courses available already, with a customized COMTA course just released on February 22nd, 2012. The customized course will be an easy to access way for you and your colleagues to become more familiar with the COMTA Standards of Accreditation.
The online training portal includes asynchronous courses aimed at supporting staff and faculty at career schools, free lessons and tutorials, and a Lounge for dialogue with other professionals. The online courses require purchase of "Enrollment Keys" in order to participate. Insitutions and programs currently accredited by COMTA are eligible for discounted pricing, please contact the COMTA staff for your VIP code.
- Schools and programs applying for accreditation (both initial and renewal) will need to have at least one staff member per main campus and each branch location participate in the customized COMTA course beginning in February 2012. The course is number CM270. For participants who are new to COMTA accreditation, we recommend watching two free recordings prior to the course to become familiar with the accreditation process. The recordings are at the bottom of this page.
- In addition, applicant schools will need to demonstrate that each participant is also familiar with general expectations for accredited schools. The expectations are communicated in several of the online training courses, but three courses in particular are approved for meeting this requirement:
- CM101
- CM102
- OP105
- Two of the three courses must be completed to qualify an applicant to move forward in the accreditation process. Be prepared to show your Certificate of Knowledge when submitting an application for Initial or Renewal Accreditation.
