COMTA Accreditation and Peer Evaluator Training Workshops
Consider these workshops “basic training” for schools and programs seeking to renew Commission on Massage Therapy Accreditation (COMTA) accreditation, or to begin the COMTA accreditation process for the first time. (Attendance at such a workshop is required for all within one year of submitting an initial application or an application for renewal.) Workshops are open to persons interested in serving as off-site peer reviewers and on-site reviewers as well, those who serve as the eyes and ears of the Commission. They are designed to assist applicants in the preparation of the SSR and its submission (now using a paperless format), and to train peer reviewers in the examination procedures for self-study reports and exhibits with respect to COMTA’s accreditation standards. Participants will review COMTA standards and policies, the keys to preparing an effective self-study, and the nuts-and-bolts of submitting it using the new online submission system. Cost for a workshop is $500 for participants from schools or programs seeking accreditation, $1000 for consultants, and is free for those seeking to become peer reviewers. Peer reviewer candidates will only be admitted with prior permission from the COMTA staff. Payment by check is also accepted. Further information can be obtained by writing to info@comta.org.
