Self-Study Program

OVERVIEW

Self-evaluation or self-study is a proven process for increasing institutional and educational
effectiveness. The self-evaluation process provides the program or institution a structured
framework for reviewing the appropriateness of its objectives, exploring how those objectives are
met and, in general, how effective it is at preparing competent massage therapists for the
marketplace. Through self-study, a program or institution is able to look at the quality of its work
and help a team of visiting specialists to identify strengths and weaknesses. Moreover, the
self-study report provides the basic evidence that an accrediting body uses to determine whether
accreditation standards are met.
